Paper Trays for HP 4000N Printer

After installing the drivers for the Hewlett Packard 4000N printer, the paper trays are not visible from Word's File, Page Setup, Paper menu.  This is because the driver installation program does not write certain settings into the registry.  Use Control Panel to fix this problem:

• From Control Panel, double click on Printers
• Highlight the printer name and click File, Properties
• Click on the Advanced tab
• Click on the Printing defaults button
• Click on the Paper tab
• Look in the Source is and Type is field.  Even if they are set to "AutoSelect", select this option from these menus and click OK.
• Click OK again to close the screens.

When you launch Word, you will see the proper tray settings in the File, Page Setup, Paper menu.
