Description:

Using DeltaView 2.8.1 with Office 2003, XP or Office 2000, after running a document comparison template and macros no longer function.

Issue/Symptom:

Following a document comparison using DeltaView 2.8.1 templates and macros cease to run within the session of Word 2000, 2002 or 2003.

Error Message:

None.

Cause:

Following the installation of DeltaView version 2.8.1 certain registry keys are created which control the setup and administration of the DeltaView application.  A default setting is included in the setup controls whether or not DeltaView should or should not use the current instance of Word to run the comparison. 

This option is checked "Off" by default.  If this setting is "Off" the DeltaView application will Disable Word's ability to run Auto macros for the remainder of the user's session of Word following a document comparison.  This disabling causes future template and macro processes that include AutoNew macros to present Wizard dialog boxes and process macro code to cease to function.

Resolution:

Reconfigure DeltaView setting:

1.  Open the DeltaView application

2.  From the File Menu, select Preferences

3.  Select DeltaView Configuration

4.  Select DeltaView Administration

5.  Check the option: "run a separate instance of Word"

6.  Close and Restart all applications.
