Bug in Office 2007 Security Update (KB969604)

Issue/Symptom:

On June 9, 2009, Microsoft released a security patch for Word 2007 (KB969604). Unfortunately this security patch has a bug. The bug relates to the storage of Word Document Variable information. In the KI application, we use Document Variables to store data that allows the Carry Over feature to function. With the Security Patch installed the Document Variable data stored within Word documents is corrupt. This causes the Carry Over feature to fail.

To correct the problem, please remove the Security Patch for Microsoft Office Word 2007 from userworkstations:

All documents created while the Security Patch is installed cause Carry Over to not detect Recipient information (i.e. the Recipient Tab will be blank).  After the Security Patch is removed, new documents created using KI templates will function correctly for Carry Over.   Microsoft is working on a Hot Fix to resolve this issue, but the Hot Fix will not be available until sometime later in the month.  It has not been released as of today.
