MAPI SR-1 Search Enabled

Description:

Prior versions of KI Systems MAPI Connector did not support Ambiguous Name Resolution (ANR).  Customers using our Office Automation Tools for Microsoft Office XP may upgrade to MAPI SR-1 to enable searching.

Issue/Symptom:

Prior versions of the MAPI Connector did not support Ambiguous Name Resolution (ANR).  For example using Check Names (Alt+K) or send in Microsoft Outlook did not automatically resolve names from the KI Systems Address Book.  Please see Tech Note 100-00086 for a full description.

To enable Searching in our Microsoft Office XP compatible products - Download and implement MAPI SR-1.

How to Install MAPI SR-1:

After you have downloaded the zip file abki32.zip -

• Close Word

• Close Outlook

• Close all instances of the KI Systems Address Book

• Extract the zip file

• Copy the abki32.dll into the System32 directory of either Windows or WINNT, replacing the existing file

After the file has been installed, you will see the following screens when you press Alt+K or Send.  In this example "an" was entered on the To line of a message.

Known User Interface Issues with MAPI SR-1:

1. Scrolling through Firm Contacts/Employee contact names in Check Names or Show More Names dialog will display the first record of each new page of data as a selected item.

2. Selecting the Properties button from the Check Names Dialog Box or the Show Names from Dialog box will refresh the underlying display list of names to the full set of contact records from the database.  The cursor selection will reside on the first record of the refreshed list (i.e. not necessarily the record you were on).
