California US District Court Rule Changes
Central District
Rule 11-3.1.1: Font must be 14 point or larger
Northern District
Rule 3-4.c(2): Font must be no smaller than 12 pt.
Rule 3.4.c(3): Case number must be in the footer following the pleading title and separated with a space, dash, space.
Southern District
Rule 5.1.(a): Font must be no smaller than 12 pt.
Rule 5.1.(b): Case number must be in the lower right corner in the following format: year, case type, 4 digit case number with leading zeros if necessary. So case number 98 in civil court in the year 2002 would look like the following: 02cv0098 (Case types are: civil = cv; criminal = cr; magistrate = mg; miscellaneous = mc.)
Eastern District
No changes at this time.

Washington Bankruptcy Court Pleading, Eastern District
Rule 9004 - 1(3): "All typed and printed matter must appear in either a proportionately spaced typeface of 14 points or more, or a
mono-spaced typeface of no more than 10.5 characters per inch may be used in a brief." Our pleading is currently in a 12 point font.
Rule 9004 - 1(10): Any document requiring the signature of the Court shall provide as follows:

According to the Thurston County Clerk's office, there is a change to pleadings submitted in Thurston County.
New Pleading Format - Local Civil Rule 10: Effective September 1, 2002, pursuant to LCR 10, "every document filed shall contain the information in substantially the following format in the top left hand corner of the first page: New Pleading Format - Local Civil Rule 10 (LCR 10) Effective September 1, 2002, pursuant to LCR 10, "every document filed shall contain the following information in substantially the following format in the top left hand corner of the first page:"

Date: __________________
Time: __________________
Judge/Calendar: __________
This new rule requires the above box to be placed on the first page of all pleadings and the appropriate information completed. When filing a document within 5 court day of a hearing, please check the EXPEDITE box. (Note: There is a check box in front of Expedite and Hearing is set and the information is surrounded by a text box.) A sample on the web site shows this information starting at line 3 of the pleading, below the judge name. Please refer to:
